ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
We offer a variety of Adult Sunday School Classes so that everyone coming to TUMC can find a welcoming group of people for study, discussion, fellowship, and fun. Our classes meet in-person, but several classes offer a hybrid style of in-person and zoom. Hybrid classes allow those who are not ready to meet in-person to participate in the class online. Joining a hybrid class will enable you to see and be seen, to hear and be heard. All classes meet from 9:45-10:45am. Below you’ll find descriptions of all our current classes.
in-person
CLASSES
Adult Bible Fellowship
Room 629 (Administration Building)
Our class is involved in an in-depth study of the Bible by following the Lectionary, which assigns a group of verses to be read and studied each week. Our class is open to all ages and we welcome everyone's input and insights.
Agape
Room 712
This adult Sunday school class welcomes people of all ages, married or single. The class uses the United Methodist adult Sunday School curriculum as a focus on Bible study. Reading a short lesson each week before class and fairly regular attendance is
desired. Class discussions include the Bible passage and the relationship of the scripture lesson to current daily living.
Foundations
The Loft (above Perry Hall)
We are a group of adults ranging from mid-30s to early-40s, married and single, with and without kids who meet weekly for fellowship and growth in our faith. Mission and service are an important part of faith journey. Come join us for coffee, refreshments, and lively conversation on an array of interesting topics and Bible studies. Newcomers are always welcome!
Parents of Young Children
Room 223 - The Education Wing
There's a new small group for parents of young children starting August 25! Join us in room 223 for new friendships, discussion, and prayer. Children are welcome, and the nursery is also available to use. This is a casual group! We all have kids and know schedules can be a little wild, so if you have to be a little late, or leave a little early, that’s no problem. We'll begin meeting at 9:30 AM with coffee and snacks, start our discussion around 9:45 and be out by 10:45. Hope to see you soon!
Summer Sunday School
NEW: Summer Sunday School for All Adults – Spirit Gifts
Where: Room 101 (Fellowship Hall basement)
When: June 1 – August 17
Join Pastor Allison during the Sunday school hour (9:30-10:45) as we explore the idea of Spiritual Gifts as found in scripture (Romans, I Corinthians, Ephesians). We will discern individually and in community what spiritual gifts we have been given. The process of discovering and re-discovering these gifts from God is meaningful in of itself. The result of sharing one’s gifts is beneficial to us as individuals, as church members, and as partners with God in the transformation of the world.
This summer-only class is designed to be flexible – each week is a stand-alone experience. Attend when you can to nourish your spirit without the stress of commitment. Participants will receive an individual workbook to work through on their own during the summer. If you have been wanting to give Sunday school a try or are wanting to get to know others in the congregation, we hope you’ll join Summer Sunday School.
