Times are available Monday-Thursday from 8-10:30 am (while the student's class is working on reading). Program is administered by Education Connection, whose mission is every child reading by the end of third grade.
SORT AND STOCK | 1:30-4:00PM
Hope Food Pantry serves as a distribution center twice a week for persons experiencing food insecurity. TUMC assists with their weekly “sort and stock” on the second Tuesday of every month. On this day, volunteers help organize food donations to make distribution day run smoothly. We need 4-5 volunteers every second Tuesday to assist with this work.
TRINITY CENTER | 304 E. 7TH STREET, AUSTIN, TX 78701
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Men’s Shower Ministry
Trinity Center offers a variety of programs for Austin “neighbors” experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, or poverty. TUMC Austin has partnered with Trinity Center to offer showers and a clean change of clothes to men every Thursday morning.
This service opportunity requires three adult male volunteers to set up shower stations and assist neighbors who sign up for showers on Thursday mornings. Volunteers have access to free parking in the St. David’s garage and training is provided by TUMC and Trinity Center staff.
Trinity Streets Worship
Upcoming Date: October 26 and December 21, 2025
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
There are additional volunteer opportunities for Women Personal Shoppers, Men Personal Shoppers, and Front Desk Volunteers. To get started, fill out the volunteer application linked below. Contact Eunice Garcia with any questions.
Donation Opportunities
Trinity Center has a large clothes closet and accepts donations of gently used men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, and outerwear. They will also accept donations of new towels and washcloths, socks, underwear, and hygiene items. You can bring these donations to the TUMC Administration Building on Sunday mornings or during weekday church office hours.
Community First! Village
Community First! Village is a master planned neighborhood that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women who are coming out of chronic homelessness. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
CF!V | Neighborhood of Knowingness
TUMC will become an official Neighborhood of Knowingness partner to one of the new neighborhoods that CF!V is opening in August 2025. We will be responsible for hosting monthly gatherings of fellowship and food for 30 residents and connecting with them in hopes of creating life sustaining relationships. Jenny Monahan and Corry Johnson are working with the TUMC mission team to identify church and community members who would like to participate and lead some of these events. Please reach out to Jenny for more information at: jenny@tumc.church
