Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously
A Three-Week Sermon Series

Why church? And, more importantly, why the United Methodist Church?

In a time when many are asking these questions, our new three-part sermon series explores a fresh and faithful answer rooted in the United Methodist Church’s new vision statement, unveiled in May 2025. Developed by the Council of Bishops and the Connectional Table, this vision casts a compelling picture of who we are called to be as followers of Jesus today: people who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.

Each week, we will focus on one of these defining practices—discovering how bold love reflects the heart of Christ, how joyful service transforms both our lives and our communities, and how courageous leadership calls us to step forward in faith for the sake of the world.

This vision doesn’t replace our mission “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”—it brings it to life in a new season. It invites us into a vibrant, inclusive, and outward-focused faith that meets people where they are, especially those on the margins, and shares the grace of Jesus in meaningful ways.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes the church matter—or why the United Methodist Church exists—this series is for you.

Come discover how we are called to live:
to love boldly,
to serve joyfully,
and to lead courageously.
